Reads like a text chat between an incel and a woman on the internet.

Trump: You are stupid. You are ugly and fat. I’m so much better than you ever will be and also fuck all our agreements. Null and void. And you owe me $13.47 for that coffee I paid for.

Them: stares confused . Then watches their economies be negatively impacted by trump.

Trump: hey we are buddies right? Come help me bomb civilians.

    Them: no thanks.

Trump: you are a stupid fat ugly bitch and I don’t need you anyway.

Trump (next day): how’s it going? . So when are you deploying your troops to help out at the straight?

    Them: blocks trump

Yup. It’s really as simple as that. Trump is a sociopathic abuser, and the macro version of that is essentially the same as the micro.

“We will protect them, but they will do nothing for us, in particular, in a time of need.”

I thought the US already destroyed 100% of the Iranian military? If I were an ally, it would sound to me like the help is not needed as there is no military remaining to fight.

NATO is a defensive alliance, not to be invoked when you get bribed by the zionists to start a war you cant finish. Our NATO allies owe us nothing in this situation but lawsuits for US/Israeli terrorism and destroying the oil markets.

If I recall correctly the yugoslavian communist serbs organized under the JNA had decided to cleanse their muslim population. Not that NATO cared specifically about genociding muslims (I think we all see that now) , but they did care about a previously “centrist” communist organization that disavowed Alliance with Russia creeping visibly closer to russian influence and becoming a satellite state, which seemed inevitable. So the war was about kneecapping a communist movement. Even though democracies like to claim they are all about letting their citizens decide their own government, they will not willingly let communism prosper, and proxy wars are preferred to direct ones.

“Guys! GUYS! You really depend on the oil that flows through the Strait so come and help me open it!”

“But your actions closed it in the first place.”

    “OMG I CAN’T BELIEVE YOU WON’T HELP! :`(”

Fuck me, this is what international politics and diplomacy have become.

Also, most NATO countries don’t really depend that much on that oil. Most of it goes to Asia.

It’s the various US allies in the gulf that are going to be feeling the pinch the most. If oil isn’t getting out, they won’t be getting paid. And they’re getting pelted by Iranian drones to boot.

All sold at “market rates” no matter the source.

Same reason I pay gas electricity prices, when most of it is made by wind turbines.

This is our life on capitalism…

The funny thing is that, with a sensible foreign and alliance policy, many of these countries would probably have actually helped with US Imperialism, like they did in the past. Take Iraq, for example. But if you treat all your allies like shit and as submissive military service, the governments of those countries simply have no choice but to reject, if they don’t want to be voted out. I’m sure, for instance, that my country’s ruling party, the CDU in Germany, was really keen on it.

Trump’s Pentagon insisted on a go-it-alone approach to Iran at the outset. This wasn’t NATO’s choice it was Hegseth’s choice.

Even fucking Chimp-in-Chief Bush Jr had the decency to assemble the “Coalition of the Willing” in Iraq. Rubio couldn’t be bothered to get the fucking Turks and Saudis on board, and they’ve hated Iran since the Ottoman Empire fell.

Absolutely bonkers to talk about this as some kind of NATO failure to comply when the treaty was never invoked to begin with. Doubly so, when you consider how many NATO bases are still ultimately being used by US forces to get hardware into position.

He’s the spoiled little rich kid who comes over to the sandbox while others are building a sand castle, proceeds to destroy the sand castle, then kicks his ball over the fence and wants everyone to come help him get his ball back.

MAGA elected the most little bitch ass spoiled rich kid on earth.

He wasn’t even that rich anymore. It was all theater. His hotels were in a sad state. His scams weren’t working anymore. It was all almost over.

      The election saved his ass.

Now he’s rich, after grabbing anything he can get his hands on. Even in his first term he was quoted as saying that it was all “his money” now. All his debts are gone, all the banks folded. All the big companies as well, because they saw that they could “use” him to also get more money.

If he was a spoiled rich kid before, think what he is now. He sees himself as a god.

The only silver lining, and I really mean only, is that he’s so small intellectually that he’ll (hopefully) never see it through to it’s full potential.

As long as they keep the chimp away from the nukes, we should survive him, so that we can then be torn apart by climate change.

I mean, it’s kind of hard to argue with results. Fraud convictions and imminent sentencing turned into another chance to loot the public coffers because dumb-dumbs think the Gaza genocide wouldn’t also continue to happen under him.

Even if NATO wanted to help, it can’t. Trump and the US’s actions are opposed to the charter. Unlike the Trump government, NATO nations stick to their laws to ensure it doesn’t go psycho, rogue, or aggressive.

Countries of NATO may act independently of NATO—under their own banner—but consider how much the US has slandered and abused them, it’s looking unlikely.
