Me after trying Raising Canes for the first time.
It’s barely better than school cafeteria food.
I call it replicator chicken. It looks perfect, striking you as having been cooked in pristine oil, is consistent and properly fried, but then when you taste it you get the world’s blandest recipe. It’s really like a well-meaning computer’s idea of chicken tenders.
The sauce is decent, and utterly necessary, but it’s really not worth it, even within the space of fast-casual chicken fingers. I prefer Layne’s or even Zaxby’s.
The chicken is ‘fine/meh’ but their sauce is awful. I have no idea who the fuck thought that concoction was pleasant or the rows of theoretical taste-testers that clearly lack taste buds, but shit they should be forced to dip everything in that slew for the rest of their lives. Actually genuinely an abomination.
I tried it on several occasions from different locations, but it sucks all the same.
Oh god I was so disappointed in it cause everyone kept saying it was so good
thank y’all for y’all’s sacrifices o7
At least in my case it was catering that I didn’t pay for, so the loss was of my appetite and my positive thoughts about the brand lol
I’m a ride-or-die Zaxby’s bitch.
It is cafeteria food. The attraction is Cane Sauce. It’s literally the only thing that elevates the food. Cane’s is the worst fried chicken recipe.
Someone should probably tell then that the sauce is even worse
This is funny to me. We got one here a couple of years ago. My adult son eats there and loves it. I haven’t eaten out since the pandemic, so I haven’t tried it.
Don’t
McDonald‘s nowadays.
I’ve started comparing everything to the $30+ for underwhelming Sonic food recently. Since then, things that have been the same price or less:
-
1x smoked pork sandwich, 1x smoked brisket sandwich, 1x large mac and cheese ($32ish)
-
1x turkey/dressing/cranberry sauce, 1x rice and gravy, 1x baked chicken, 1x mashed potatoes, 2x macaroni, 2x yeast rolls, 1x peanut butter pie, 1x lemon pie ($35)
-
Buy one, get one free wood-fired pizzas after 10 PM near me. Two pizzas for $14.95.
Fuck fast food. Try your local places. Deals are out there and you meet people.

This happened to me recently. Tried a Vietnamese place that is literally twice as expensive as my usual Vietnamese place, and it was much, much worse. Sad times. I’m also a total food snob though
A Vietnamese takeout place just opened near me and I gave it a shot. Went in to pick up the food and it was all white people and I knew it wasn’t going to work out. I was not disappointed in my negativity. It was like these people had watched a single TikTok video on Vietnamese cuisine and decided to open a restaurant. Probably just a front for laundering drug money.
Probably just a front for laundering drug money.
It’s crazy how much this happens, two super popular restaurants near me were busted for precisely this. Big police raids and everything, they even had semiautomatic rifles…
I used to live in Daytona and one day a shop opened up that sold nothing but Super-Whippers … $1 plastic whisks. They were never open and they were 200 ft. away from three dollars stores and a Publix, all of which sold plastic whisks. Maybe the whisk demand in coastal Florida is a lot greater than I imagined, but I think it’s more likely that this was a drug money laundry.
I’ve been in 3 different airports in the past 24 hours. This hits hard
