There was a planes spinoff where one of the characters is a helldiver plane, and has literal flash backs to being in WW2,
There’s a WW2 battle in the Pacific in the planes spin off film.
The second movie is all about spies, which means there was a Cold War, and if there was a Cold War, there was a Russia, and if there was a Russia, there was a Stalin and a Lenin, which means there were communists, and eventually a Red Scare and a McCarthy, which means there was a nuclear scare and, naturally, nuclear weapons.
The Porsche girl character, I can’t remember her name because I’m 40, had one of those lower-back tattoos, which opens up a whole other series of “which means” implications that I absolutely do not want to get into.
This rabbit hole goes much deeper than Pixar intended.
I haven’t seen Cars 2 but why would “spies” imply the Cold War?
Reminder that Cars is a pro-eugenics franchise, and probably would have depicted the smashing of “lemon” cars as a heroic act.
I wonder how the nonexistence of horses in the Umamusume franchise affected war, and how Hitler viewed the horse girls.
a VW of course
