Which is pretty crazy when you think about it, hitting a target about 1.3 lightseconds away. As in, if you could sight it, you’d be looking at where it was 1.3 seconds ago. Because it is moving at about 1km/s relative to us. And don’t read that as km/h, that’s one kilometer every second, so by the time you see it, it’s already about 1.3km from where you see it, so you need to lead it by about 2.6km to hit it but aim your sensor at the apparent image.

Though it’s so far away that it doesn’t look that hard and the angle of difference between where you aim the laser and where you pick up the return signal is less than 0.00001 degree (thus you can solve that problem by ignoring it but still, just hitting that tiny distant moving target at all is impressive).

They needed all of the stops to pull off the elections and one of them was amplifying the most obnoxious aspects of the left, which also affected their credibility, which was important to get the opposition to ignore the warnings about the obvious signs of fascism.

And right now, that same strategy is being used to keep the disillusioned from joining up with the left by amplifying the “fuck you, you’re irredeemable” responses to the ones starting to see Trump for who he is.

I bet that the question depends more on management than the customers or type of work.

Like a good manager that doesn’t take shit from customers will be way better than the ones that bend over backwards for any complaint.

Same thing for the ones who are chill as long as things are getting done vs the one that is more interested in seeing the illusion of work being done even if things are neglected (because all their attention is making sure people look busy rather than really understanding the work to evaluate results).

I wonder what this timeline would be like if he had accepted that his submarine idea was naive despite the good intentions and just paid to have a nice setup with comfortable tents and catered food for the divers and kids as they got out of the cave (plus their families). Instead of attacking the guy and showing the world who he was, kicking off a cycle of him lashing out at his falling popularity, resulting in it falling even more, then more lashing out, etc.

Even if he was like that the whole time, he might have kept his mask on instead of leaning into it, probably would have never made that offer for Twitter, might have tried to appear neutral instead of joining Trump’s campaign.

Though hard to say because the self-driving bs and cybertruck would have still happened and might have kicked off that cycle anyways.
