This is literally just their normal Islamophobia gussied up in an attempt to make it sound like something more socially acceptable. Stephen Yaxley-Lennon’s already tried pretending to have been reborn in prison and is spamming his Nazi rallies with prayer. It’s the Victimhood step of the fascists’ playbook. “We’re just simple God-fearing Christians and them there scary towel heads are coming to exterminate us!”
As a white boy deep in the south region of the US where evangelical Christian is the only Christianity I suggest to you, as a person who has lived in this shithole, that my brothers and sisters in Great Britain nuke this shit from orbit and pour gasoline on the smoking embers. We thought this would not happen here but we let the fucking nuts congregate and feed off each other. It all started when Eisenhower let Billy Graham in the White House because, " what can a little prayer breakfast hurt?" And no one said a thing because why offend " good Christian" people. Stop it now while the chickens are still in the hen house.

Also, he changed the official national motto from “E Pluribus Unum” (out of many, one) to “In God We Trust”.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_God_We_Trust
The first postage stamps with the motto appeared in 1954. A law passed in July 1955 by a joint resolution of the 84th Congress (Pub. L. 84–140) and approved by President Dwight Eisenhower requires that “In God We Trust” appear on all American currency.
i’m fascinated by the how and why of the fall of christianity in the UK after the 2nd world war. btw the war itself probably contributed but the collapse was steady over the 30 years after it
so the uk is already reacting to the new religious groups like islam and the evangelican african churches and these new idiots will be dealt with in a similar fashion
we are scientist atheists that must protect our democracy and that is not going to change
You thought it wouldn’t happen there? Pretty sure most of the rest of us knew it always had.
Gen Z has actually become more religious than previous generation.
You can’t convince me this isn’t a satire site.
I am SO tired of these religious fundie/extremist nutjobs.
They are only hypocrite religious. Nothing of what they are doing is even close to Jesus’s core teaching “Love your neighbor as yourself.” (Mark 12:31). They are giving Christians a bad reputation.
Christians gave themselves a bad reputation, then as now. Their faith never recovered from the Black Death, which finally broke the back of the church, and ended their stranglehold over almost all of Europe.
They later tried to break the peasants with their various Inquisitions, killing thousands more, but no matter how many people the Christians tortured to death, they were never able to achieve their former glory and power; they have diminished every year since.
They’ve lost half of their faithful in the USA over the past 20 years. PRAISE GOD
These guys priestly look like the characters that portray a racist, secret Nazi agent in a lot of movies
Britain has been Christian Nationalist for centuries
Oh shit. You lot need to nip these assholes in the bud.
Thats exactly what they did last time, ship all the fundy religious nuts overseas, the Massachusetts bay colony was full of religious exiles deemed too “extra” for post-reformation Europe… And look where we are now.
Aaaand of course its through Reform MPs. Why did I expect otherwise
How much do you want to bet they don’t even go to church? I’m an atheist and I’m more christian than them
I wonder how harsh their stance on this foreign refugee will be
As an actual bible believing Christian, I would like to officially distance myself from all this nonsense.
Bible Believing Christian? Gross.
None of them follows Jesus’s teachings, they just abuse his name.
Jesus teaches that He will return at the head of a Holy Army, to kill all who won’t accept Him as Lord.
“They” can’t even come close to the horrors Jesus promised. The lake of blood will be miles wide, and as high as a horse’s bridle (according to Him).
His billions of victims won’t even have peace in death, as He promises them eternal torment in a lake of fire (according to Him).
Which shows that you did not understand the bible. Forget the Apocalypse. It should never have made it to the book, and has nothing to do with what Jesus preached.
I understand the Bible… it appears that you’ve never read it.
Jesus Himself preached that He will return at the head of a Holy Army to crush humanity, you have no idea what is going on. Jesus Himself described the eternal torments of Hell.
You should probably read the Bible so you know what I’m talking about, and stop spreading blatant falsehoods, which, by the way, is heresy and condemns you to Hell.
Even if you remove “the Apocalypse” from the Bible completely (by that I take it you mean Revelation), the quotes of Jesus remain in the New Testament elsewhere. You just ignore them.
Disgusting revisionism of core Christian doctrine. You should be ashamed of yourself.
Do you think He promised to come back to Earth for hugs? No. Like He said, He came not to bring peace, but the sword.
Funny, though. I’ve read the Bible several times, but I do not recall any line of Jesus returning with an army to crush humanity. Could you supply book and verse?
And because I know the Bible I disregard the Apocalypse (or Revelation, if you prefer).
That’s why you reveal that you don’t know the Bible, you should read it a few more times because you just don’t get it yet.
Sure… you can choose to reject John and Revelation, even though he was a disciple and the favorite of Jesus. But, then, you must reject a good deal of the gospels. Like John 3:16
That is pretty funny.
I’ll refrain from quoting John the apostle, since you have rejected him, even though he was an apostle and knew Jesus personally. Since you can’t recall, you really should read Revelation and refresh your memory. I would provide book and verse, but you already rejected Revelation and by inference the author of same, right?
Hmm, let’s try Matthew
“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.” – Matthew 24:30
Do you reject the words of Matthew the apostle, as well as John the apostle? Do you just know he is also wrong?
Why do you think all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see Jesus coming on the clouds of Heaven with great power and glory? The Bible describes why in great detail, yet you reject it because you know better than John the apostle and Matthew the apostle, right?
You have absolutely no ground to stand on Biblically, your knowledge is from your imagination.
So, keep reading. It will sink in and you’ll figure it out someday.
None of the passages you quotes backs up any of your crazy claims. Anything better to offer?
Once again being a person deep in the evangelical South in the US I have people who say they are good Christians over look all this and go along to get long. It is time for those " good Christians" to open their mouths and start denouncing this.
Do they at least call themselves “Norsefire”?
Didn’t Christian nationalism literally come from Britain? It didn’t spontaneously form from the ether in America. A bunch of brits sailed to America to slaughter native Americans because God “wanted them to”, a few generations pass and then here we are. And no I’m obviously not saying it is actually this simple (“Americans = brits + time”), but the headline seems dumb to me too.
Yeah that isn’t gonna work here
Color me shocked that this is happening in a state with an established church and members of the clergy sitting in the legislature.
Britain has a secular government which pays lip service to a religion.
The US has a religious government which pays lip service to secularism.
In Britain, there are currently 23 Lords Spiritual, out of 1402 legislators.
In the US there are 0 openly atheist members of congress, out of 535 legislators.
